If your web site is using our new infrastructure, then you can create web serivces uses systemd service files.
Start by logging into the members control panel, finding the hosting order for your web site, and clicking the "Scheduled Job" tab on left hand side.
Next, click to create a new item.
Set the "schedule" to "forever" to indicate that the service should be always running. This is approprate for nodejs or unicorn or other services.
Note: do not try to run a process manager this way. Systemd is a process manager so it expects to be given a command that remains running forever (and does not run in the background). You may need to pass a "-fg" or "--foreground" or "--no-daemon" or some such argument.
Alternatively, choose a frequency to run a "cron" type job on a regular schedule.
You can check the status of your service via the command line. First, ssh into your site.
Each of your jobs is named after the item id of the scheduled job (which you can see in the control panel list). If the item id is 4321, then the job will be named red-item-4321.service
.
ls ~/.config/systemd/user
. Jobs that run on a schedule will have both a ".service" and a ".timer" file.systemctl --user status red-item-4321.service
systemctl --user restart red-item-4321.service
journalctl --user --unit red-item-4321.service
