¶ How to create a domain name record for use with your web site
All web sites must have a DNS record set for each domain they use.
Follow our guide on adding DNS entries to your control panel for details on how to add a record. Some additional information to keep in mind for domain records used in web sites:
- Choose the Type "Alias" and for Server name use
a.webproxy.mayfirst.orgorb.webproxy.mayfirst.org

When specifying domain names for use with a web site, it is customary to add two entries for each domain name. One using the bare domain name (e.g.
mygroup.org) and a second with prefaced with "www":www.mygroup.org. Each should be added with the same information. -
If your domain name is hosted by a different provider, you must still add these records to the May First control panel as described above. You must additionally add records to your DNS provider's control panel:
- If the DNS provider is cloudflare, create "Flattened CNAME" records that point to
a.webproxy.mayfirst.orgorb.webproxy.mayfirst.org. - Or, if the DNS provider is not cloudflare, but offers an "ALIAS" type record, then create ALIAS records that point to
a.webproxy.mayfirst.orgorb.webproxy.mayfirst.org - Or, create A records that point to the IP address of
a.webproxy.mayfirst.orgorb.webproxy.mayfirst.org
- If the DNS provider is cloudflare, create "Flattened CNAME" records that point to
