Your web site's PHP settings can be configured by editing a file called .user.ini
that is stored in your web directory. You can change values by typing the name of the variable followed an equals sign and then the value (without a trailing semi-colon), e.g.:
upload_max_filesize = 40M
post_max_size = 60M

Since the file starts with a dot, you may need to configure your sftp program to show hidden files.
For a list of settings you can change, see the PHP documentation. Any setting except the ones labeled PHP_INI_SYSTEM
can be changed in your .user.ini file with the exception of the memory_limit
which can only be changed via the control panel (click the Advanced Settings button in the Web Configuration tab).
If you would like to see what your existing settings are, you can create a file in your web directory with a name like phpinfo.php
with the contents:
<?php phpinfo(); >?
If you point your web browser to this file, it will print a report of the values of all your PHP settings.
