¶ How to reduce TTL values to make DNS changes faster
Before moving a website or email service, you can temporarily lower TTL values to help DNS changes propagate more quickly.

Reduce TTL values at least one day in advance of planned DNS changes to help avoid delays.
Start by [changing the TTL on your DNS record] without changing any of the record's other values.
- Set the TTL to a low value, such as 300 seconds (5 minutes).
- Wait for the previous TTL to expire so existing caches can refresh.
For example, if the previous TTL was 3600 seconds (1 hour), wait at least one hour before making further changes. - Make your DNS change, such as updating nameservers at your registrar or modifying A, ALIAS, MX, or TXT records with your DNS provider.
- Once the migration is complete and everything is working correctly, restore the TTL to its normal value
