When creating a new web configuration the May First control panel will default to using a suppported version of PHP however the website software you wish to install or upgrade may require a different version. In the advanced settings you can see which version of PHP has been assigned to your site and choose from multiple versions.
To change the version of PHP used by your web site, login to the control panel, find the "Web Configuration" tab for your web site, and click the "Show Advanced Settings" button:
Then, choose the PHP version you would like to use:
Just because your web site is using one version of PHP does not mean that your chosen version of PHP will be used when you type php
at the command line (or use the drush
, wp
, or composer
commands).
To ensure your chosen version of PHP is used, you may want to:
~/bin
directory (if it does not already exist)/usr/bin/php8.1
(or whatever version you want) points to ~/bin/php
~/bin/
for drush, composer, wp or any other command that executes them via the line: exec php8.1 drush
or exec php8.1 composer
